Rams take second place at Ogden track & field meet

Teams from Roland-Story won the team titles at the Ogden coed track and field meet Monday, but the Greene County Rams took second place on both the girls and boys side of the meet.

The Ram girls had eight first place finishes. On the track, junior Emily Christensen won the 800 meter run in a time of 2:33.95; senior Allison Higgins won the 3,000 m run at 11:51.33; junior Eme Johnson won the 100 m hurdles in :16.70 and the 400 m hurdles in 1:09.54; and the 4 X 400 m relay team of freshmen Olivia Hansen and Nadia Fisher, Christensen and Johnson won with a time of 4:21.28.

In the field Fisher won the high jump, clearing the bar at 5’2”; junior Emma Saddoris won the long jump with a leap of 16’ 1-1/2”; and junior Hannah Onken won the discus throw at 108’1”.

Second place finishes came from the shuttle hurdle relay team of Fisher, Johnson, junior Mollie Sorber and sophomore Hannah Cooklin with a time of 1:12.92; Hansen in the 400 m with a time of 1:02.88; and the sprint medley relay, Cooklin, Saddoris, Hansen and Christensen with a time of 1:58.88.

Finishing third were Sorber in the high jump at 4′ 8″; sophomore Cassidy Adamson in the 3000 m at 13:19.73; and the 4 X 800 relay team of junior Jolee Wessling, junior Noelle Gray, and freshmen Hannah Stein and Taylor Wessling.

First place finishes for the boys on the track were: junior Dylan McConnell, 100 meter high hurdles at :16.05; 4 X 100 m relay of sophomores Max Neese and JC Weitl, junior Dylan Hamilton and senior Roman Phillips with a time of :44.76; the 4 X 200 m relay team of Neese, Weitl, senior TJ Lint and Phillips at 1:33.06; and the shuttle hurdle relay of McConnell, freshman Daric Whipple, sophomore Tyler Beger and junior Joe Doran with a time of 1:03.93.

In field events, junior Alex Rasmussen won in the shot put with a throw of 48’ 3-3/4”.

Whipple placed second in the 400 meter hurdles at 57.86. Third place points were earned by TJ Lint in the 200 m dash with a time of 24.91; sophomore Chris Manion in the high jump at 5’ 6”; and Weitl in the long jump at 18’ 9”.

Girls team scores were Roland-Story 170.33, Greene County 149.33, Gilbert 88, South Hamilton 81.33, Woodward-Granger 46, Colo-Nesco 38, and Ogden 13.

Boys team scores were Roland Story 126, Greene County 98, South Hamilton 81.5, Gilbert 73, Ogden 71, Woodward-Granger 67, and Colo-Nesco 38.5
